Service areas for different response timeframes (3-, 5- and 8-min) and various traffic conditions are simulated for three major emergency responders (i.e. New York Police Department (NYPD), Fire Department, New York (FDNY) and Emergency Medical Service EMSS)) under normal and flood scenarios.
Novel, highly virulent pathogens can overwhelm host immune responses not primed to their exposure, and such pathogens can be a strong selective force, reducing the distribution and abundance of a species over short timeframes (1-2 generathroughthrough effects on survival and reproductive success [ 2].
