A systematic review concluded that future research should focus on longer follow-up time, dose responses and utilise newer outcome methods for assessing the joint, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) [ 2].
The second objective was to perform concentration and photoactivation time dose-response studies.
In the photoactivation time dose-response study, peak stress was greater for all treatments when compared with the control and greater for the 3-min treatment vs. the 6- and 9-min treatments.
We have also shown that LPS at 1 μg/mL induces IL-6 and IL-10 from PBMCs promoting different IL-6 responses in healthy individuals and PBMCs of clinically severely septic patients (time-dose response pilot study) [ 23].
