That's the top tier of Pandora's paid offerings, and Pandora's equivalent to Spotify's paid tier or Apple Music.
Pandora, which has around 20 million tracks, offers its basic product for free, but also has a premium tier called Pandora One for $3.99 per month that drops ads, provides access to a desktop app and ups the number of skips a user is allowed per day.
The addition of the paid tier allowed Pandora to grow its in-app subscription revenues this year – it even booted Netflix from the top grossing spot on the App Store in Q3.
The Premium tier is Pandora's answer to Spotify's on-demand service, offering playlist creation, downloads for offline listening, unlimited skips and replays, higher-quality audio, and no ads, as well as the ability to play any song at will.
Pandora Plus was announced last month, as the mid-tier in Pandora's new, three-tiered service.
The company reported in its Q3 2017 earnings that its Premium subscribers crossed 1 million in October, and it has 5.19 million paying subscribers in total, including its mid-tier product, Pandora Plus.
"The fact that all three tiers of Pandora streams are now included is a major milestone not only for us and our 72 million monthly active listeners, but also recognizes, in a very powerful way, the millions of fans who listen to their favorite artists via the Pandora platform," he said.
(Apple's service, which doesn't have a free tier like Spotify, Pandora and others, instead let users try it out for free for three months, before having to pay the $9.99 monthly fee).
When Apple Music was first announced to the world after many months of speculation and plenty of rumors, it was revealed that while there was no free tier option like Pandora or Spotify, there would be a three month free trial for new users, after which the $9.99 per month subscription fee would be put into effect.
