Blustery showers and galeforce winds are expected to hit on Sunday, while forecasters are warning of heavy rain and thundery showers on Tuesday.
ON A thundery Saturday in late September, vehicles were banned from the bustling boulevards of Guinea's capital, Conakry.
Forecasters warned that a "deeply unstable airmass" had brought the risk of heavy thundery showers across East Anglia, the South East and London throughout the day.
It said: "Heavy, thundery showers will continue to bring a chance of some localised surface water flooding issues, especially in urbanised areas, across much of south-east England today, with a risk continuing into the early hours of tomorrow morning in the far south east".
This will bring an outbreak of heavy rain and thundery showers.
Though some of the South East got off to a wet start today with thundery showers, forecasters said it would still be another warm day today and the good weather is expected to last this weekend.
Forecaster Emma Boorman told The Independent : "Through today there are going to be some heavy and thundery showers which will affect everywhere across the UK but they are moving very quickly so we are not expecting any more issues in the areas which have already been hit".
The Met Office has said areas afflicted by floods will see a "respite" over the next 48 hours with "clear, dry spells" and some thundery showers expected to pass over quickly.
"The main focus for thundery downpours looks limited to the south-east corner of England overnight but then becomes rather more widespread during Sunday afternoon and evening.
The Met Office are now predicting unsettled weather across the UK, with thundery downpours across the southeast of England on Saturday.
Temperatures on Sunday are predicted to reach a maximum of 26C in the South East and 20C to 24C across the rest of the UK, although weather warnings remain in place with the Met Office issuing a "yellow" warning of rain for eastern England and Scotland, forecasting thundery showers with torrential downpours, lightning, hail and strong gusts.
