UNICEF, through its winterization programme, is helping vulnerable families with children, like the Rolovic family.
"UNICEF, in partnership with WFP, is supporting the winterization programme through cash assistance, so that families are able to choose and buy necessary winter clothes for their children," he added.
"We are thrilled that UNICEF will be the first agency to reach Syrian refugees with their winterization programme through WFP e-cards in existing partner shops in the camps, meeting the urgent needs of providing winter clothing at the coldest time of the year".
UNICEF, in close collaboration with UNHCR, has planned for a winterization cash grant in the 2017-2018 wintor to provide an estimated 118,000 people, including 47,200 children, with cash disbursements to purchase winter clothes between November 2017 and February 2018 with over the 80% of the cash being disbursed in December.
The cash assistance programme and in kind winterization support has been made possible through the generous support from the governments of Canada, Germany and the USA through the State Department's Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration.
"Winterization affects so many things," he said.
Risk-based winterization is a novel approach, adapted for vessels operating in arctic environments.
Additionally, there is no more talk of winterization or what to do about physically abusive individuals within the group.
The winterization of Union Beach's low-cost tiny bungalows locked the community into low- and lower-middle-income housing.
The winterization of the camp was still possible, she said, "but it should have started by now".
