Fairfield Country Day, a boys' school, teaches kindergarten through ninth grade; the tuition range is $23,900 to $25,500.
"Today's commitments from AOL, and other Upromise-participating companies such as Citi, underscore the extent of the college savings crisis in America; but more importantly, demonstrate that families can overcome the tuition burden through their own savings efforts," said George Bell, chief executive of Upromise.
"There is something inherently problematic about benefitting from the financing of the tuition you charge through investments in any lender".
The rest of the tuition is made up through grants and fundraising.
At Purdue University in Indiana, the tuition paid by international undergraduates amounts to almost half of all new revenue it has raised through tuition since 2007.
