As a first attempt at assessing this skill, we have created a de facto random effects model, where each clinician has their own threshold (and ability to compare with respect to that threshold) sampled, in turn, from a population threshold; it is that latter threshold that we estimate with our regression model.

As long as the DSM is more responsive, there is always a threshold sample size above which the indirect estimate has better precision than the direct estimate.
Following Hansen's recommendation, the threshold sample is trimmed by 10percentt of the highest and lowest values.6 Trimming assures adequate observations within each threshold regime.
The studies show that the explosive mode of reduction is caused by the exothermicity of GO reduction coupled with a threshold sample mass/size that causes heat and mass transfer limitations leading to local temperature rise and a thermal runaway reaction.
Using this threshold, samples were divided into two groups of high- and low-ERE transcriptional activity.
At this threshold, sample amplification curves approached maximum efficiency, negative controls were below the threshold, and weak positives exceeded the threshold.
However, these data artifacts, which question the use of large sample distributions for test statistics, are minimized by requiring a threshold sample size for a multilocus genotype combination.
We employed GENALEX 6.3 [ 67] to examine predictions about patterns of isolation-by-distance, using Mantel tests [ 68] for correspondence between mtDNA genetic distances [ FST/(1 - FST)] and geographic distances [ ln (km)] among sites at rangewide and FL-region levels (N ≥ 8 threshold-sampling; 10 permutations; relationships confirmed using linear regression).
Applying these thresholds, samples averaged 39 99%-OTUs and 27 97%-OTUs of Lachnospiraceae based on the 16S rDNA V4 region.
