We generally dislike navigation systems because too much other functionality gets buried in menus, but here the things you need to get at quickly, like the audio volume, are preserved in buttons and switches.
Oddly, this version seems like a bit of a dead end but it's nice to see Android functionality getting fleshed out more concretely.
To that end, today's rebranding coincides with the revamp of the Playlists.net Spotify app that sees its music discovery functionality getting a boost, including the recently introduced Moods feature.
But I feel like this functionality isn't getting its full due.
Pandora (update), Attensa, Gahbunga, Ojos, Google Purge, Writely, Skype (update) (I'm surprised this functionality hasn't gotten more buzz), Kiko, Kiko #2, Free Wikis, Technorati (update), Findory, Iconize Me, Google Bendi, PocketMod.
Not a complaint at all, but I am excited to see the functionality gains this gets from future software updates; namely I think it'd be really to fun to track a pet (it currently can only recognize humans).
But so much functionality now gets packed onto the individual chip that many complete systems can be assembled out of far fewer components–a few for logic, a few for power and a few for input/output.
You can get this functionality in an iPhone app (onOne), but it probably kills your battery, and besides: in photography, more accessories equals more glory.
Now if we could get this functionality as a feature in TweetDeck, Seesmic and the likes …. (Hat tip to Eyal Sela).
Personally, I'd love to see Mustache Inc. partner up with the folks behind Twinkle (Tapulous) or Twitterific (The Iconfactory) to get this functionality integrated into one of the popular iPhone Twitter posting/following applications.
