Winkel Carlsbad, Calif., July 8, 2009 To the Editor: I was particularly struck by the last word of David Brooks's column — "self-mastery" — because it evoked memories of my 70-year-old report cards from elementary and junior high school when that was one of the many things evaluated by one's teacher.
The authors also addressed several methodological issues and, among other things, evaluated the performance of non-parametric methods in connection with model-assisted estimation and the close connection between difference estimators and regression estimators.
She pointed to an 18-month program in Queens that was, among other things, evaluating E.V. chargers and said that Con Edison re-evaluated its estimate of electric load annually.
The type of learner we are affects the means by which we memorize things, evaluate and classify information, the way we solve problems, even the means of our creativity.
"She's fine with concrete things," Deirdre evaluated, "but abstract things can be a problem.

From infancy, people physically approach things they evaluate as positive and withdraw from things they evaluate as negative, a behavior that humans share with the simplest of organisms [1], [2].
Wine and fine fragrances are the most difficult things to evaluate; then come coffee and chocolate.
