The global theme "confidence and perceptions" describes graduate nurses' views about their prior paid employment choice being beneficial to them and perceived to assist them in the process of transition.
Data analysis led to the identification of 6 themes: faculty characteristics and perceptions, student characteristics and perceptions, course characteristics, on-line versus paper student evaluations, reliability and validity, and development of new instruments.
The central themes were experiences and perceptions of family care, professional care, end-of-life care and communication.
