And then there's the books about him, the academic treatises on his art, a Cambridge companion to his work, critical exegeses of his themes, analyses of his stagecraft… oh, the list goes on and on.
In order to explore whether evolution acceptance implies a correct comprehension of the basic principles of evolution in the Dday sample, a pairwise correlation analysis was performed to detect possible associations between the three themes analysed above - 1. evolution acceptance, 2. understanding natural selection, and 3. rejection of the telistic view (chisq = 286.22; p≦0.001).
Qualitative data from open-ended questions were manually theme-analysed.
(FGD Deurne, GP7) Although the cultural background between Flemish and French speaking GP's was expected to differ, we seldom encountered differences on the various themes analysed.
Dependability and confirmability of findings were tested by re-reading the data to determine the depth of evidence available for each of the final themes analysed by the research team.
On the basis of these themes, further analyses were performed to detect and check correspondence and differences between the themes, and to search for the most important messages transmitted by the participants.
However, there are overlapping domains and themes with analyses that may have included inspection into the influences of gender, race, culture, or other sociodemographic confounders.
In the process of identifying themes, the analyses were, therefore, underpinned by a mix of essentialist (representing concrete realities) and constructivist (seeking to examine the role of discourses in shaping these realities) methods.
The second, third, and last authors independently confirmed the appropriateness of coding, themes, and analyses at each stage, and provided alternative ideas about the first author's work.
