The process of thematic analysis is split in to six phases, (i) familiarisation with the data, (ii) generating initial codes, (iii) searching for themes, (iv) reviewing themes, (v) defining and naming themes and finally once there is a set of fully worked out themed (vi) writing up [ 43].
Sections are split into the thematic subsections: compensation, investment and capital structure, tax avoidance, transfer pricing, and future research.2 For convenience, tables at the end of each subsection provide a summary of the reviewed papers and include a brief description of the model, the tax-related research question(s), and the associated result(s).
A metadata analysis using basic thematic analysis was used to split results from papers into themes based on the sections of information that NRES recommends should be included in a participant information sheet.
