The FOD verification dataset consisted of 24 indoor images (indoor images were included for performance comparison, although there was no indoor case for FOD detection) and 76 outdoor images, as shown in Fig. 7.
The strategy we used to overcome this problem was to use another dataset, PLCO, as an independent verification dataset that could be integrated into our combined analysis with EAGLE.
In the absence of any global satellite observation of forest structure and biomass all extrapolations will be a compromise between accuracy and overfitting, and only more independent verification datasets will allow for selection of the 'best' model.
Historically, real-time qPCR has largely been relegated to a supportive role in large-scale gene expression studies, most frequently used for the verification of DNA microarray datasets [ 1- 3].
The empirical null distributions of the log-likelihood ratio test for each trait and dataset allowed the verification of the test assumptions and the control of type I errors based on the observed 95%% quartile.
Such stepwise processes led to the verification and categorisation of a final dataset containing 220 GPCRs.
The verification was done for totally new 8 datasets.
Data that passed the verification process were then placed into sport-specific aggregate datasets for use by external researchers.
