Four classes of conscious experiences (being fully focused on the task, task-related interferences, external distractions, and mind-wandering) that varied along two dimensions ("task-relatedness" and "stimulus-dependency") were sampled using newly designed thought-probes while participants performed the Sustained Attention to Response Task (SART [42]).
