Its aim is to bring about a "reading revolution" through the setting up of reading groups in sections of society that may not have easy access to great literature: hospitals, care homes, schools, community centres, prisons, hostels and so on.
The setting up of the group follows research that suggests patients are more likely to die if they are admitted to hospital over the weekend.
