Both investigators and the general population supported a more rigorous response in the medical school scenario than in the humanities and social sciences department scenario.
The proportion of investigators who indicated that specialist involvement was desirable (option 4 or higher) was 37.7% in the medical school scenario and 13.3% in the humanities and social sciences department scenario.
Approximately 40% of investigators indicated that specialist involvement would be appropriate (option 4 or higher) in the medical school scenario, as opposed to approximately 13% in the humanities and social sciences department scenario.
