The requirement of gp78 interaction for ERAD inhibition by ectopic USP13 indicates that the interaction of USP13 with gp78 is functionally relevant to ERAD.
To further confirm the requirement of physical interaction between Zfp277 and Bmi1 in culture-induced stress-resistance, we first determined the site where Zfp277 interacts with Bmi1 by co-immunoprecipitation using HA-tagged deletion mutants of Zfp277 and a Flag-tagged Bmi1 in 293T cells (Figure 7A).
