Billed as the largest climate march in history, the mass protest will come two days before heads of state gather in New York for an emergency United Nation's summit to discuss the state of our climate.
And the most effective protest will come not from critics and audiences, whose grumbling can always be explained away, but from singers, without whom nothing can happen.
"It's difficult to say when the next wave of protests will come," Mr. Navalny said in an interview about his new site, named after an acronym Russians use for their combined utility and building maintenance bills, ZhKKh.
The early indications are that his protests will come to nothing, and that England will again be saddled with either Shayne Hayne or, even worse, the maddening Tony Archer in Brisbane this weekend.
For the next two years, as the UK negotiates its departure from the EU – and Scotland's likely breakup from England – the protest voters will come to understand that the experts' warnings of jobs leaving for Europe were real.
"Right now what we are looking to do is establish credibility by getting others who have been affected, and the protest will allow for others to come forward," said Chicago attorney Billy Mills, who said he found the Chicago police statement on Homan Square to be "vague" and "missing specific details".
"The number of people coming to the protest will increase after they see innocent people dying," said Mohamed al-Ghasary, 23 and unemployed, who was sitting on a wall beside a group of about 50 men.
"The protest will be spontaneous.
The protest will last until Wednesday.
The lower turnout at the protest on Saturday suggests that the protests will dwindle in coming months, as opposition leaders plot a longer-term strategy.
