A mobile node can try to associate with access points based on the prediction before starting the probe process.
Optimization of the probe process showed that using 7 pmol of MCT probes per target in a multiplexed assay led to results that did not vary significantly from using 20 pmol, and that using lower amounts helped reduce background and cost of the reaction (data not shown).
