It is apparent, however, that the N.C.A.A.'s four-year statute of limitations will probably not come into play for violations at Miami, since the Yahoo Sports report said the improprieties were from 2002 through 2010.
But Michael P. O'Looney, the department's chief spokesman, said the improprieties were an aberration and that the additional 203 felonies would have a minuscule effect on the overall 2002 Compstat numbers -- a total of 153,379 serious crimes reported citywide -- and on the F.B.I. uniform crime report numbers for 2002, reported this week.
But that magistrate found in 2004 that the impropriety was not sufficient to overturn the conviction.
Jeanene Worrell-Breeden, 49, who was the founding principal of the Teachers College Community School, jumped in front of a subway train on April 17, the same day the impropriety was reported.
In a statement, the Princeton Review did not deny the claims but noted that the alleged improprieties are in the company's past -- and ended when its Supplemental Educations Services division was discontinued in 2010.
