The trial lasted 13 wk with the final 9 wk as the test period.
Cows were fed either HEI or CEI diets based on grass silage during the first 3 wk of the dry period and grass silage supplemented with a commercial concentrate (30% of ME intake) during the final 3 wk of gestation.
In conclusion, these results indicate that a greater energy density diet in the final 4 wk of the dry period improves cow production in early lactation.
Mouse melanoblast lines melb-a (nonagouti, a/a) and melb-s (piebald, Ednrb s / Ednrb s ) were grown in RPMI 1640 medium with 10% FCS and 20 nM TPA as described previously (melanoblast medium) (24, 26); SC1 feeder cells were used for melb-a cells and omitted for the final 2 wk.
In the first 6 wks of training the participants completed 6 intervals, the following 6 wks included 8 intervals, and the final 3 wks consisted of 10 all-out swimming intervals.
Cystagon® (150 to 300 mg of cysteamine base every 6 h, based on the short half-life of the agent, Fig. S9A and S9B) was given alone for 4 wk, followed by a combination of Cystagon® (same dose) with Epinerve® (270 mg once daily) for a further 4 wk, followed by Epinerve® (270 mg once daily) only for the final 4-wk period of this 3-mo treatment (Table 2 ).
For the final 2-wk inpatient intervention period, subjects consumed diets at the baseline energy level and macronutrient composition except that 30% of energy was from complex carbohydrates and 25% was provided by fructose- or glucose-sweetened beverages.
Subjects returned as inpatients for the final 2 wks of intervention, during which the procedures were repeated while the subjects consumed their assigned glucose- or fructose-sweetened beverages as part of an energy-balanced diet.
These questions were interspersed throughout the final 3-wk unit of the class on evolution along with one to nine other nonscored questions per class period lasting 55 or 85 min. For each scored question we used the TPS approach: students were allowed to vote initially and were then given an opportunity to discuss the question with their neighbors before revoting.
A final assessment was performed 1 wk following the final IACFM intervention (4 wk post-injury).
