Indeed, for example, the specificity of different methods will always (except with bad methods) be close to 1 because the differences in the number of false positives will play a very minor role in the division by the number of true negatives.
While the structures of lead compounds cannot be disclosed, the analysis is thought to provide an example of the interplay of different methods applied in practical lead identification.
As stated in the paper by Lutsey et al. (12), the differences between studies may be the result of different methods used, for example definition of outcome, population, age, dietary assessment, and statistical methods.

There are also many studies evaluating the role of CA-125 in predicting prognosis in ovarian cancer with the context of different methods, for example, area under curve, nadir, and longitudinal monitoring of CA-125 levels [ 25– 28].
For example, a recent study comparing the accuracy of different methods to quantify DNA following controlled degradation demonstrated up to a three-fold difference between spectrophotometry and quantitative PCR (qPCR) for DNA fragments of 150 bp; DNA quantification by PCR, but not spectrophotometry, was affected by the extent of DNA shearing [ 9].

However, this is also one of the strengths of this paper, since it offers an example of the real-life behavior of different methods that were extensively evaluated in simulation studies.
