To investigate the evolution of connection strengths over time, the DCM analysis was performed for 3 different time-windows 0 100 time-windows 0 100ms (see Garrido et al. 20 200or andimilar approach).
Having established the underlying architecture, we were able to track the evolution of key connectivity parameters (e.g., inhibitory connections to superficial pyramidal cells) and test specific hypotheses about the synaptic mechanisms involved in ictogenesis.
These features of signaling enzymes suggest that they have distinct evolutionary mechanisms from other proteins, i.e., insertion and recombination of modules are suggested to be a common mechanism of the evolution of new proteins and connections [ 27, 28].
At the same time, the growth of individual cytoplasmic compartments would have necessitated the evolution of machinery to generate connections between adjacent blebs in order to integrate processes across these increasing large cells (for example, facilitating accurate cell division and cell polarization).
By broadening its contemporary collection to include such works -- by artists who have contributed to the evolution of thinking about our connection to the land -- the museum will open its galleries to radically different interpretations.
The initial intracellular gene transfer was likely driven by the evolution of a metabolically stable connection between the predator and the photosynthetic prey that resulted in a mixotrophic life-style (Fig. 4).

After seeing the exhibition, almost six in ten visitors were able to articulate a reasonably accurate explanation: 39% said the Tree represents relationships between or among organisms; 19% said it represents the evolution of species, and others mentioned nonspecific connections to "all life" and "where animals come from".
