Laura DiNatale arrived to the dance class at Eastern Middle School with her mother, Jean DiNatale, a Parent Teacher Association volunteer who helped set up the evening's refreshments with a fellow P.T.A. volunteer, Maria Dubaz.
Throughout the evening — as refreshments progressed from appetizer-sized chicken and waffles to a buffet of flank steak and roasted heirloom carrots to "homemade pudding shots" at the dessert bar — guests offered different takes on what kind of success the Johnson-Weld ticket could achieve this year.
So far, however, only a couple of the artists have paid the booth rental fees, funds that were essential for purchasing the opening night refreshments.
Mealtimes were defined as: breakfast, morning refreshment, lunch, afternoon refreshment, dinner and evening refreshment.
The evening's other refreshments included hard cider, made from Hudson Valley apples, and violino di capra, whose name is Italian for "goat violin".
But Mikko works just as well as a quick stop for morning or afternoon refreshment: Coffee and one of the aforementioned cardamom buns, fluffy with a touch of salt.
Following calling hours family and friends are invited to return to Mary's Home, 122 Morton, Rd., Rhinebeck for continued fellowship and refreshment into the evening.
