Twenty-one reported not having missed any ART dose within the 3 days prior to their (delayed) visit, 4 patients reported during at least one delayed visit to have missed a dose, and for delayed visits of 2 patients on ART there was no adherence information available.
The percentage of bedside visits was 33.8%, 50.6%, and 56.1%, and that of immediate (within 15 minutes) visits was 23.7%, 35.3%, and 32.5% after calls received from stable, unstable, and DNR patients, respectively (p < 0.001 by Pearson Chi-square test for immediate visit, delayed visit, and no visit).
Specifically, we examined the relationship between fear and delayed visiting, the relationship between delayed visiting and dental problems, the relationship between dental problems and symptom-driven treatment, and finally the relationship between symptom-driven treatment and fear.
"If someone delayed visiting the park in June, we thought they would make it up in July because a visit is usually delayed instead of canceled," said Hayley Kissel, the Merrill analyst.

In our study, immediate (within 15 minutes) bedside visits occurred in 27.8%, and delayed visits in 14.5% of the calls.
Figure 1 shows the proportion of people who reported that they avoided or delayed visiting a dentist because of cost by age group and year of data collection.
An alternative possibility, that patients delayed visits to work on lifestyle changes, is not supported by the pattern of worsening A1C values in the intervention groups.
