After coalescence, the coalesced bubble showed velocity and volume oscillations.
In the combined phase maps of Si and Au in Fig. 5a, b, the red and yellow colors clearly show the elements distribution of Au and Si, and the evolution of the coalesced Au nanostructures based on the coalescence growth model are correspondingly revealed.
Gokhale et al. [2] studied the coalescence of two condensing drops and the shape evolution of the coalesced drops.
After annealing, tapered W-ZnO whiskers radiating from the coalesced Zn particulates appeared (Fig. 3b).
However, the staggered array textured surface is more beneficial to the coalesced droplet vertical jumping than the in-line array.
However, the coalesced p-GaN obtained under the present growth conditions still exhibited severe surface roughness, as shown in Fig. 5b.
It is found that the coalesced droplet on the flat and conical posts textured surfaces can move horizontally from superhydrophobic bend to hydrophobic bend without the roughness gradient.
Moreover, the coalesced droplet is able to spontaneously move from lower conical post density region to higher conical post density region without the wettability gradient.
When the center distance of capillary orifices was 1.5 mm (S = 3d0), the coalesced bubbles had less growth time and smaller detachment diameter.
The elongation becomes much more pronounced with further increased DAs, and finally at around 6 nm DA, the coalesced wiggly nanostructures appeared, the phase IV.
