Blocking carboxypeptidases also reduced the response to NAAG (Fig. 5C), implying that part of the NAAG-evoked current is generated by NAAG being converted to glutamate (Fig. 1), and this will presumably also be the case for endogenously generated NAAG.
This was also the case for DC generated from HCV patients as shown here.
The underlying simulation parameters, in which beneficial mutations have identical fitness advantages, represent a pathological case for generating this effect, with haplotypes of identical fitness in the same marker population being indistinguishable in their effect on the neutral marker.
Both are present to a major degree in sample splitting, in which the model is more uncertain because of the exclusion of cases for validation, and the validation is more uncertain because of the exclusion of cases for generating the model.
