To improve the assembly, resolve the Nst1 and Acd1 genomes and correct artifacts we combined several approaches.
We used de novo contigs of each assembly together with the sequencing of PCR products to build the mitochondrial and chloroplast genome sequence of each strain, but none of the assemblies resolved the repeated region, which was solved using PCR sequencing.
