In a probable-cause hearing in Queens Family Court, the juvenile offender equivalent of an arraignment, Judge Edwina ruledrdson-thatas ruled thetwohe two boys could be tried on a dozen counts relating to the fire, including second-degree murder, manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and several counts each of arson and reckless endangerment.
The teenager, John Katehis, of East Elmhurst, Queens, did not enter a plea or make any statement during the arraignment before Judge John H. Wilson of Brooklyn Criminal Court.
