To validate the results of the above 3D quantification technique, quantitative Western blots were performed under the same perturbation and culture conditions (as described in the Methods section).
The above HPLC quantification showed that the Indirubin content of the fruits of C. guianensis (dry weight basis) to be 0.0918%.
The corresponding estimates range between 0.5 and 1.6 years and thus lie within the range of the above mentioned quantifications of the impact of biological factors.
Based on the above findings, a quantification of ENPs from soft biological tissues by LA-ICP-MS requires a matrix-matched calibration with ENPs of similar size distribution as in the samples analyzed.
To validate the above process of quantification, we performed a single centre prospective observational validation study in a tertiary teaching hospital with a 23 bed mixed intensive care unit.
The gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC MS) approach permitted to determine in the micro-samples 1, 2 and 4 the occurrence of a proteinaceous material above the quantification limit, while sample 3 showed a proteinaceous content between the quantification and the detection limit.
The contrast material identification contributes not only its quantification (see the above section on Dual-energy CT under Basic principles), but also its subtraction [19, 20, 21].
Limits of detection of pinoxaden in soil, water, and wheat grain samples were found to be 0.6 μg/g, 0.48 μg/mL, and 0.31 μg/g, respectively, while limits of quantification in the above matrices were found to be 1.83 μg/g, 1.46 μg/mL, and 0.94 μg/g respectively.
Overexpression of the NPR1 gene in M. truncatula resulted in a strikingly long and straight root hair phenotype (Fig. 7B, compare the NPR1-Overexp and empty vector control root hairs; Fig. 7D shows quantification of the above results from 12 seedlings).
While the absolute sensitivity to fiber displacement may be underestimated for the mechanoreceptors recorded in this study, the above results do provide important quantification of the sensitivity of intercostal mechanoreceptors to changes in the functional displacement of the intercostal space.
