Findings informed a collaborative project between the University of Bergen, the Addis Ababa City Council Health Bureau and the Addis Ababa University to improve the quality of BEmONC in Addis Ababa.
The study protocol was approved by the Research and Publications Committee of the Addis Ababa University Faculty of Medicine and received ethics clearance from the Ethiopian Science and Technology Agency, and the Institutional Review Board of the University of Pennsylvania.
It was the first major development-related new agenda to be adopted in a year that also brought the adoption of the sustainable development goals, the Addis Ababa action agenda on financing for development, and the Paris agreement.
The research was authorized by the Animal Research Ethics Review Committee of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture of the Addis Ababa University (Permit No: VM/ERC/003/04/013).
Voucher specimens of the tested antimalarial plants were deposited at the National Herbarium of the Addis Ababa University with numbers Bor 9 for Ajuga integrifolia, BOR 32 for Clerodendrum myricoides, Bor 5 for Melia azedarach, BOR 10 for Peponium vogelii and BOR 18 for Premna schimperi.
The consequence of the Addis Ababa outcome is that more than 100 developing countries will remain excluded from decision making on global tax standards," said Tove Maria Ryding, policy and advocacy manager for tax justice at Eurodad.
The Addis Ababa Health Bureau received the proposal and an ethical appraisal letter, and gave a letter of permission to each selected health center.
Jimma Zone Health Office and the respective District Health offices of the study areas as well as local administrators were communicated by formal letters written from the School of Public Health of the Addis Ababa University and Oromia Regional Health Bureau.
