It is a result valid for similar metabolic network problems that aim at optimizing a final yield (e.g. a concentration at the end of the optimization time interval, such as in [ 15]) and such that the control enters linearly in the network equations.
In addition, point 30, obtained by maximizing the initial conversion rate, only contains 3% xylanase, in contrast to points 28 and 29 that have maximixed final yields (Table 3).
