A major consideration when deciding between a targeted, single-gene approach to genetic testing versus testing using a multiplex gene panel is the increased chance of receiving inconclusive results, which presents challenges for both patients and clinicians.
The 14 polymorphic markers (Table 1) were selected for further testing using a multiplex PCR set-up with 304 S. acaulis individuals collected in Endalen and Hotellneset (Svalbard, Norway).
