In earlier studies of the cohort participating in the Uppsala Longitudinal Study of Adult Men (ULSAM), we observed that besides traditional stroke risk factors, performance in the cognitive test Trail Making Test (TMT -B aTMT -B70 catried importage information as a predictor of later incidence of stroke, especially brain infarction (BI).
The participants were evaluated using a broad battery of neuropsychological tests: Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Clinical Dementia Rating scale, CERAD protocol, Stroop test, unilateral and bilateral motor praxis, 7 min test, Trail Making Test (TMT) Parts A & B; and neuropsychiatric inventory (NPI).
