The phrase "test of fear" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used in contexts where one is evaluating or measuring fear, such as in psychological studies, literature, or discussions about challenges.
Example: "The haunted house was a true test of fear for all the participants, pushing them to confront their deepest anxieties."
Alternatives: "fear assessment" or "fear evaluation."
