Vision was assessed in a well-lit clinical examination room in the University Eye Clinic with computer generated test charts (Thomson Test Chart 2000 XPert software, V.11.09; Thomson Software Solutions, Hatfield, Herts) presented on an LCD screen at 6 m via a mirror.
From the test chart of Fig. 7, data sending time starts at the 100 s.
Several images of a test chart were taken to estimate the index of the optical performance, SFR (Fig. 7).
We have also observed directly their filtering effects by attaching them to a digital camera and taking pictures of test charts.
Related instruments for constructing and calibrating scanning imaging systems, such as light sources, wavelength dispersion devices, detectors, standard test charts, calibration sources, and standard reflectance panels, are already commercially available.
