PmLox (in magenta) and PmCdx (in green) occupy distinct territories of expression in the gastrula embryo: both genes are expressed in the posterior portion of the archenteron with PmCdx positive cells positioned toward the posterior side of the gut and PmLox expressing cells adjacent to PmCdx but localized more anteriorly.
