LONDON — Huddled together Thursday morning with hundreds of displaced passengers in a large semiheated tent outside Terminal 1 at Heathrow Airport, Dennis and Bonnie Barlow of Virginia were reviewing the high points of their vacation so far.
The airport was wall-to-wall with camped-out passengers wondering when, if ever, their flights would leave; other passengers were denied entry to the terminals at all, and were sleeping in freezing tents outside Terminal One.
The grisly reality was heavily documented by the festival's social media influencer attendees, via photos of sad sandwiches, overcrowded airport terminals and a miniature tent city.
The seat was also chosen online, the check-in completed and even the boarding pass printed out at home before leaving for the airport, avoiding the usual queue at the airline counter.Not that it mattered, because there was another queue to be joined in a tent outside the terminal where it took an hour to reach the security checkpoint.
Such activity is exerted by the N-terminal 50 kDa domain of TeNT which is a zinc-dependent endopeptidase (TeNT L-chain).
The building itself has a certain majesty, especially the main terminal hall, which is covered with a tent of Teflon-coated fabric.
Life there has long since returned to normal: the forecourts of terminals at Heathrow airport no longer resemble tent cities.
Briefly, the AHc of pSCARSAHc was replaced with THc (one synthetic gene encoding the C-terminal heavy chain receptor-binding domain of TeNT) by using the Nde I and SmaI cloning sites, resulting in pSCARSTHc (Fig. 2A) as described previously.
The chaos was widespread: At Heathrow, many passengers were denied entry to terminal buildings and forced to wait in freezing tents outside Terminal One as two-thirds of flights were cancelled.
