All of the remaining patients showed some improvement in pain by day 5 and in swelling by day 7. Tenderness improved in seven of the nine remaining patients; however, full resolution of pain was observed in only three patients.
Pelvic suspension or slow chilling of non-carriers produced the same improvement in tenderness, and when combined the tenderness increased further.
