After segmenting the Colin27 template into five tissue types (scalp, skull, cerebrospinal fluid, gray matter and white matter), the average scalp thickness was 6.9 ± 3.6 mm (range: 3.6 11.2 mm), while the average skull thickness was 6.0 ± 1.9 mm (range: 2.5 10.5 mm).
