The spring and fall months April, May, October, and November are temperate, averaging about 63 °F (17 °C), and the winters are slightly cooler.
In contrast, four Pacific Phoebastria species span a broad latitudinal range including tropical to temperate regions of low to moderate average wind speeds and wave heights (Fig. 2A,B).
