Indeed, even as formerly middle-skill occupations are being "deskilled," or stripped of their routine technical tasks (brokering stocks, for example), other formerly high-end occupations are becoming accessible to workers with less esoteric technical mastery (for example, the work of the nurse practitioner, who increasingly diagnoses illness and prescribes drugs in lieu of a physician).

Regardless of interest rates, some people will always want the security of a fixed monthly payment, says Katie Tucker, technical manager at broker, Mortgageforce.
'Percentage arrangement fees can make sense for smaller mortgages as they represent a lower [nominal] amount and may cost no more than a flat fee that would be payable anyway,' says Ray Boulger, senior technical manager at broker John Charcol.
Simon Collins, product technical manager at brokers John Charcol, has seen a big rise in the number of people applying for a second charge mortgage during the last couple of years.

"It may be that such an independent, objective body may be better able to surmount the mutual tension between rights holders, publishers, search engines and other content aggregators, the I.S.P.'s and the underlying communications network operators and instead broker technical solutions that can command widespread adoption and support," the report said.
These include costs for documents, administrative fees for customs clearance and technical control, customs broker fees, terminal handling charges and inland transport.
