Another approach to team processes focuses on the structural characteristics of teamwork.
The study seeks to test two main hypothesis: (1) the greater the intensity of ID, the more extensive are the beneficial effects experienced by patients and health professionals; and (2) the potential benefits of teamwork differ depending on the characteristics of the patients being treated, the professionals, and the care environments.

Although some light has been cast on conceptual problems with the term "culture" and there are some controversial findings, a growing line of research indicates a positive relationship between a healthcare organization's culture and various performance measures placing emphasis on teamwork as the key cultural characteristic [ 2- 4].
