In particular the TCs- expression of DCN increased with time in culture, and the presence of bFGF up-regulated its expression as well (Fig. 4).
Having demonstrated that our mouse PCT-TC signature can reflect different prognostic features in human patients with three different types of cancer, we focused the application of our PCT-TC expression model to attempt to stratify prognostic subgroups in the well documented human breast cancer microarray data from Netherlands Cancer Institute NKII) [2], [3].

Nevertheless, the clonal patches we observed in the DT, DB and TC appeared to have located randomly in these branches, and clones in the DT appeared to have "wiggly" borders except at the boundaries that delimit the DT, DB and TC expression domains.
In the Tribolium GZ, adjacent Tc-wg and Tc-hh expression domains are found before and throughout elongation.
In a second phase, Tc-hh and Tc-wg expression arise de novo in the head anlagen, while Wnt and Hh signaling remain active in the posterior, where Wnt signaling is needed for elongation of the GZ in Tribolium and other arthropods and for the expression of some pair-rule genes in Tribolium (Beermann et al., 2011; Bolognesi et al., 2008) (see supplementary material Fig. S1 and Fig. 7).
In the GZ, by contrast, Wnt/β-catenin signaling acted upstream of Tc-hh and Tc-wg but Hh signaling had no influence on Tc-wg expression.
Indeed, Tc-hh expression is knocked down to 10% in the Tc-hh RNAi treatment but to only 70% in the Wnt treatments (Fig. 3D).
Tc-MYBPA-tt2 line 6, which had the highest Tc-MYBPA expression, had nearly the same PA concentration as in the Col-0 seeds.
Following the same reasoning, the decrease in the E p/Ē t ratio in SN relative to the mid-parent value for TC-specific probes is evidence of down-regulation of TC-type expression (Fig. 3C), while an increase of SN E p/Ē t ratio relative to the mid-parent value suggests an increase in TC-type expression (Fig. 3A).
While Tet-Off requires the absence of Tc for expression of the transgene, in the Tet-On system the transgene is expressed when Tc or its analogues are present.
