The word "tattle" is correct and usable in written English
You can use it when you are talking about someone reporting information about something or someone, especially information that is considered to be gossip or not truthful. For example: "The children were tattle-taling on each other, trying to get the teacher's attention."
Whatever would stop it, it hasn't happened today, so let's embrace the tittle tattle.
