The number of samples in each cohort, the year the samples were obtained and the vaccine status for the members of each cohort are summarized in Table 2. Titers of antibodies in serum that neutralized 100 TCID50 of Sabin 2, MEF, SD-98 and isolates SD-99-1, and SD-04 were determined by a micro-neutralization assay [30] and normalized to a pool of 20 positive sera in each test run.
Antibodies against influenza virus A H5N1 were detected in 2 cats (1 and 4, Table) with titers 256 on day 50 in both cats.
Figure 4 illustrates the relative protection for a titer of 1 40 and 1 80 versus 1 10 by virus and intervention using the three interpolation methods (Table): a titer of 1 40 was associated with a reduced infection risk of 40%70%% relative to a titer of 1 10, depending on the circulating strain; the corresponding protection associated with a titer of 1 80 was 54%–84%.
The performance of each marker in predicting progression to type 1 diabetes within 5 years given as estimated AUC, and its 95% CI is shown in Table 2. ICA titer, GAD65A titer, fasting insulin, HOMA-IR, and fasting glucose from both IVGTT and OGTT performed poorly and did not demonstrate prognostic ability with lower CI limits of AUC <0.50.
Although not statistically significant (Table 2), peak titers of NA FL93 and SA CO92 were lower than titers of SA PE70 and declined less rapidly through 72 h postinfection.
Clinical information was sufficient to analyze for 9 of these 11 patients: 5 patients with both acute- and convalescent-phase titers (Table 2) and 4 patients with only a convalescent-phase titer (Table 3).
Overall 52 (75.4%) out of the 69 rabbits were considered positive in the IFAT (Table 1), with titers ranging from 1/25 to 1/800 (81.2% of the seropositive samples had titers of 1/100 or higher).
These parameters correlated with each other (p<0,001, Table 1), while titers of the antibodies were not associated with degree of proteinuria as high antibody titers appeared in individual mice with low degree of proteinuria and vice versa (Figure 4A).
As shown in Table 1, the titers of virus in the spleen for the control mice after challenge reached 105.94 PFU/ml, whereas the titers in the spleen following vaccination decreased greatly.
IgY pooled from 10 eggs have comparable HI and VN titers (Table 1).
