"table caption" is a correct and usable phrase in written English.
You can use it to refer to a short description of the contents of a table in a document, such as a report or article. For example: "The table caption of Table 1 summarizes the results of the study."
To add a table caption, add the table first, then while the table is selected, click the "Insert/Edit Table" button again, and check the box for "Table Caption," then click "Update". The table caption field will become available at the top of your table, and you can add the table caption text accordingly.
The "table caption," if used, will show up at the top of the table, and will look a bit like the a "title" for the table.
