Psychoacoustic research in ASA has inspired considerable work in developing Computational Auditory Scene Analysis (CASA) systems for speech separation (see [6, 7] for a comprehensive review).
Several existing CASA systems for speech separation have used the envelope of filter outputs for autocorrelation calculation in the high frequency range, with the intention of encoding the beating phenomenon resulting from unresolved harmonics in high frequency (e.g., [8]).

This would for example disqualify a system for speech synthesis based on text files as a candidate for applying the procedure.
In this contribution, a dynamic multi-channel system for speech signal enhancement in an automotive environment with distributed speaker-dedicated microphones has been presented.
In this contribution, a generic overall system for speech enhancement of distributed microphone signals is proposed, where each speaker has only one dedicated microphone.
Harnad (1982 , 1987 postulates a system for speech perception in which input is represented both as analog representations that are faithful to the physical spectrotemporal properties and instance-to-instance variations in the signal and as a categorical representation that retains only the invariant information across different instances of the category.
This ventral network substantially overlaps with brain systems critical for speech intelligibility (Scott et al., 2000, 2006; Vagharchakian et al., 2012), making it a good candidate region for developmental language dysfunction.
However, research on this gene, known as FOXP2, makes it clear that it is not a gene for language rather, it is a gene that regulates the activity of other genes, having an effect on the development of many organs, including brain systems important for speech and language (Fisher, 2005).
