The two groups of patients were comparable for all major clinical characteristics such as age at diagnosis, sex, metachronous vs synchronous metastatic involvement, previous adjuvant chemotherapy, number of metastatic sites and proportion receiving second-line treatment (Table 1).
Synchronous occult neoplastic involvement of the nipple may lead to incomplete excision of the tumor in patients undergoing breast conservation therapy, possibly leading to recurrence.
To our knowledge, this is the first case report of a PTC with synchronous secondary uterine involvement.
