Advanced calibration methods such as optical clocking or simultaneous acquisition of MZI and OCT signals are needed to ensure the PSFs not affected by the sweep-to-sweep variations when the VCSEL is not operated at its resonant frequency.
Furthermore, the method in [ 40] required an A-line interferogram signal (captured in the beginning of the process) as a reference, which is reliable only when the sweep-to-sweep variations are small in slow-speed systems (e.g., 40 kHz in [ 40]).
